“I portray what is not visible, what we do not show.
Each one of us is unique and different.
I search for “markers of identity”…I try to show what
Makes us be and differentiates us from the rest.” Oriol Llaurado
Self control and passion, conscience and unconsciousness, brain and heart. Both extremes are reflected in the work of Oriol Llaurado. Coming from the universe of architectural and interior photography, Llaurado has taken from those worlds the technique, the precision, the measurement and the light to inject them with his own dose of artistic passion. A passion always present in him and which he has been developing in giant steps since 2008.
His work is best enjoyed in big format, taking hold of the space in a clean manner. The images are emphatic and suggestive, capturing pieces of reality and showing it in dual form, with brain and with a heart. Works such as Mirada Oblicua (2007), Lunas de Cristal (2009), Tus Aguas (2009) or the recent Levedad y Peso (2010) and Uso de las Manos (2010) are exceptional, coherent and have traveled to various international art fairs such as Artamericas 2009, the Venezuelan gallery of Juan Ruiz, Art Chicago 2009 and Art Miami 2009.
